I’m very grateful and excited to be working as General Manager with Melon Health. I’m passionate about health and wellness, and the difference that we at Melon Health can make, helping people lead healthier and happier lives.

Having worked in the health sector for over ten years, I’ve seen the challenges the health sector is facing with limited budgets, health disparities and an increasing number of people living (and being hospitalised) with chronic health conditions. I love how Melon Health programmes complement existing health care services and encourage increased self management by patients. I believe our programmes can help reduce the burden on existing health services and lead to better outcomes for patients. Our results have already shown significant benefits to patients and health care providers and it’s great to hear the feedback from patients who’ve made sustainable changes with life changing results.

Before starting at Melon Health, I worked for the Ministry of Health, most recently working with DHBs and primary care to implement the national bowel cancer screening programme. I’ve also held various other roles at the Ministry of Health delivering and managing projects for the Cancer Services, the Long Term Conditions and the Oral Health teams. Prior to that, I worked in the telecommunication sector, delivering strategic sourcing projects as well as managing suppliers and in the sport and recreation sector, providing legal advice and setting up fund distribution programmes. I regularly apply what I learnt from my law degree and subsequent post graduate procurement and information and business management qualifications. Originally from Edinburgh, I came to Wellington in 2003 and love everything Wellington has to offer.

When I’m not working, I’m spending time with my family and friends, playing sport or watching my three sons play sport, walking or biking the beautiful bush and beach tracks near my home, enjoying yoga, practising handstands and reading about health and wellness.
