Arthritis affects 1 in 6 New Zealanders with osteoarthritis being the most common. MOA (Managing OsteoArthritis) was developed in partnership with Arthritis NZ, funded by the Ministry of Health, to help people improve their physical functionality and overall quality of life.

Many people living with osteoarthritis are struggling alone. MOA's online community fills a much needed gap by providing social support, health tracking, symptom management and a Living Well programme. MOA connects people with the same chronic condition harnessing the collective knowledge and support of each other combined with health coaching provided by Arthritis NZ educators.

MOA is a patient centred, evidence based digital solution that is focused around a private, secure online community and a self-management modular programme. Patients can connect with each other, share experiences, ask questions and learn from experienced health coaches, as well as access a library of interactive tools and resources.

MOA is funded by the Ministry of Health and is being delivered as a 2-year pilot programme as part of the Mobility Action Plan initiative. The regions that are delivering the programme are Taranaki, Whanganui, Wairarapa, West Coast and Lakes.

Online Peer Support Community

MOA members can connect with each other, offer support and encouragement, ask questions and gain insights into how to better manage their osteoarthritis.
